Johnny Cash died today. He was 71.
It was the first thing I heard today when I woke up
My friend told me.
Johnny Cash said whenever he woke up, he said Good Morning to God.
This morning didn't feel that good.
But I said Good morning, anyway.

Johnny Cash died today. I didn't know what to do.
So I looked out the window.
I knew I couldn't listen to some songs.
Like, "Peace in the Valley",
or "Give My Love to Rose",
or "Hurt",
So I went out for a walk,
and eventually started listening to his music.

Johnny Cash died today. It really made me sad.
Most of the people I admire are dead.
I look up to ghosts.

Johnny Cash died today. And I don't know what to say about it.
This morning I walked around outside listening to his music.
I don't think I ever listening so carefully to someone for so long.

Johnny Cash died today. I cried.
He's probably with June now.
He's probably wearing a suit of white.
And I can't help thinking what song God asked him to play this morning.
Maybe "When the Man Comes Around",
or "Peace in the Valley",
or "I'll Fly Away".
